Dear
Xequte Software User, Well as we
come to the end of 2011 I'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Feliz
Navidad, Joyeux
Noël, Frohe Weihnachten, Kul 'am wa antum bi khayr, Buon
Natale, Shana Tova or Seasons Greetings! Please view
our Christmas
card :-) Christmas for
me is a contrast between the traditional and the secular. On
the years we visit my parents we gorge on the traditional oversized Christmas
dinner of ham, roast vegetables and salad followed by pavlova and ice cream (starting about 2pm and often
taking more than an hour). Other years
we host my wife's extended family and generally this means a big barbeque
lunch. So while you may be dreaming of a white Christmas, I
will be wishing for one that is fine and hot so I can eat bangers and quaff beer
under the sun. Waffling
Anecdote Warning: As a teenager
I got a job on a Japanese ski-field during the Northern winter, but when
we turned up in early December there was not a hint of snow and it was hot
enough for us to work in our T-shirts. As the weeks wore on
the unseasonably warm weather continued and management began to
fret. On Christmas day after working under the sun the
company put on a special Christmas dinner for us. It was an
impressive feast for a chef who had had no first-hand experience with western
food and as we ate, drank and celebrated the snow finally began to
fall. My first white Christmas :-) Thank you for
your support in 2011 and all the best for 2012. Regards Nigel Cross * MailList King V10.48

Tips - DVD
PixPlay: Using the embedded (IPTC) Description of Images The IPTC fields are used by many applications for storage of such
data as descriptions (such as Smart Pix Manager, MegaView, Photoshop and
Picasa). With DVD PixPlay it is possible to display these
embedded descriptions during your slideshow. After adding images to your project in the normal way, select Edit
> Specify Frame Captions, then choose the custom text item.
When you click OK you will see in the bottom right of the main window a
small box where you can specify a custom caption. It will
already be filled with the description retrieved from the IPTC data, but you can
further change it to your requirements. -
MailList King: Mistyped Email Addresses Everyone who manages a mailing list will understand just how
frequently people mistype their own email addresses; adding spaces, leaving out
periods, misspelling mail, etc. When MLK encounters a bad email address it adds it to the Error lists
(View > History and Errors) so you can review the erroneous items and
reprocess any that you can fix. MLK also includes an option to automatically fix common misspelling
(in View > Options, Database) this uses a set of rules to resolve know
failures, forgetting the dot before .com, inadvertent use of - Smart
Pix/MegaView: Marking files for deletion Do you ever find yourself working through a folder, selecting files
here and there and performing the same action on them (such as moving, deleting
or rotating them)? Wouldn't it be good if you could just mark
the files as you go and then move/delete/rotate them all at once?
Well you can. The answer lies in the use of Favorites
mode. Don't be locked into thinking that the Favorites should
just be used to bookmark files you often refer to; you can also use it for
general file marking. The steps are as follows: 1. Clear your Favorites list by selecting the Favorites tab and
clicking "Clear All" 2. Return to folders mode and every time you reach a file that you
want to mark, click the "Add to Favorites" button on the toolbar (or use the
keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+B) 3. When you have finished, select the Favorites tab, click Ctrl+A to
select all of the files and perform your editing function
