Hi Nigel and All,
I have a question regarding methods used in MLK Pro to update list for a specific group or mailing list. My situation is this: I receive an updated CSV list of contacts monthly. This list contains all appropriate contact info. The new file will contain new contacts added to the list. This is great, I import the file and new contacts are added to the database and the duplicates are not! Great!!
My problem is that it appears as when I import the monthly updates the contacts who have been removed from the updated list sent to me are not deleted from the group/database. The organization requires that members not authorizing use of their email address are not included in mailings. Is there a way accomplish this without deleting the entire list every month?
Thanks,

Hi Nigel,
I suspected as much, oh well... not the end of the world. thanks! I suppose I can delete the records in the existing database and import the new file. (There are 88 fields in a record. I'm only using 5 of them in mlk.) I'm not crazy about re-mapping them for each database.

Thanks for the clarification, Howard,
Presently MLK has no way to synchronize itself with an import file, i.e. remove any entries that are not listed in the import file. I suggest you either create a new database and then import the entries, or you maintain a (text) list of e-mail addresses that have been removed and unsubscribe that list in MLK.

Hi Nigel, Thanks for the quick response!
No... The contacts are not unsubscribed. They were removed from the CSV file by the list owner prior to sending it to me just as though they never existed. If we compare the two files, the newly downloaded CSV will have fewer records than the current database. I'm looking for a way to remove the records that do not match those in the CSV file that's being imported. Sorry, I wasn't more clear. Hope this helps to clarify my question.
Thanks

Hi Howard
Do you mean that the addresses that have been unsubscribed in the past might be in the import file and you don't want them to be imported?
If so, go into View>Options, Blocking and set the Unsubscriber Blocking option.
